Heat, humidity, and salt air wear out gaskets and dry out movement oils faster than in cooler places. That is why we check the seals every time we open a case, and why pressure testing is part of our normal routine instead of an extra.
Many of the watches on our bench belong to neighbors from the condo communities along Collins Avenue and A1A who have been coming to us for years. Some bought their watch here. Most did not, and that is fine with us. We fix watches no matter where they came from, and if you have old watches or gold you would rather turn into cash, we buy gold and watches at the same counter.
